Open Horizons kicks off: Europe’s next wave of innovation, made inclusive

Bratislava, March 2025 

The Open Horizons journey officially began with an energetic kick-off meeting in Bratislava. It brought together the full consortium in charge of this special €1.2 million Horizon Europe initiative. The project, launched in February 2025, is fully set up to support women-led deeptech startups and create strategic bridges with European corporations looking for real solutions. 

Sharing a mission, together 

The meeting was a moment of alignment and ambition. Consortium partners – PEDAL Consulting, Sploro, InnovX, and Migros Ticaret – gathered in person to fine-tune objectives, roles, and next steps. 

Together, they reaffirmed a shared mission: 

Empower women-led innovation and unlock new pathways for growth, funding, and real-world impact in the European deeptech ecosystem. 

What’s coming: 3 Open Calls, real challenges, real support and pilots 

The two-year plan is ambitious and challenge-driven. Here’s what’s ahead: 

  • Three Open Calls for women-led startups in deeptech and digital fields 
  • Up to €55,000 in equity-free funding per startup, with up to 39 funded 
  • Pilot projects with corporate partners to test real-world solutions 
  • Mentoring and training on investment readiness, scaling, and corporate collaboration 
  • Access to an exclusive network of corporates, investors, and tech experts
